“‘Comfort, O comfort
my people,’ says your God.”
(Isaiah 40:1)
The opening tenor recitative of
Handel’s treasure, Messiah, is taken
from Isaiah 40 and sets the tone for a story of redemption that offers eternal
hope. There is comfort to be found as the Word becomes flesh, and dwells among
us. Take comfort, dear friends; that’s the good news of Advent.
Prayer: May we find comfort as we
meet you, O God, all along this Advent journey. Amen.
